Bookmarks in Power BI can be extremely useful in creating beautiful reports and dashboard, it is the combination of so many items like button, selection pane and enable the action which are present in the format button, on the other hand bookmarks can offer different set of advantages like hiding specific visual also defining the different layouts, as per need we can use that visual.
I roughly mode we can say if you having lot of visuals are there in power BI interface and looks like complex then bookmark action is required, it capture the key data.in the selection pane we also controlled the visual on/off mechanism but better to create bookmark action and align with action.
To assign a bookmark to a button
1. on the insert select buttons and give suitable name
2. in the format bottom pane, ensuring the slider is on
3. Expand the action section under type select bookmark
